The Night Circus By: Erin Morgenstern

Blurb:

The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des RĂªves, and it is only open at night.

But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway: a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them both, this is a game in which only one can be left standing. Despite the high stakes, Celia and Marco soon tumble headfirst into love, setting off a domino effect of dangerous consequences, and leaving the lives of everyone, from the performers to the patrons, hanging in the balance.

There really isn't much that I can say about this book because I loved it so much. Everything about it. The only thing that I found tricky was keeping track of the ever changing dates that started each chapter and sometimes jumped around but...that's more of a me issue than anything. The romance was sweet and I liked that it took its time, and the setting....wow. Just wow. Every scene in the circus made me feel like I was actually there, experiencing it all. The smells, the sights, the tastes, every sense was covered. The characters were just as colorful as the settings, and while there were many, they each had their own distinct personality which made it easy to keep track of them. I definitely recommend this book. It's got everything. Action, romance, magic, suspense, and the uncanny ability to make you feel like a child again, wondered by the circus.
